Project #1: The first bid is for the back staircase which leads up to the back entrance to the door on the second level of the residence. The entrace way right at the door, the lumber here is not pre-treated and with the weather and rain has started to rot and has become unstable to support people at the entrance. In the past someone has tried to put a "band-aid" over the problem by using particle board to put on top of the boards, and then has used some new lumber underneath to give the area more strength and then put some plywood underneath. However, as you can see from the pictures the particle board on top of the walkway at the door has already started falling apart and rotting and the rain has went thru it thru the original boards and has even started rotting the plywood underneath.
Solution: Rip off the particle board and the original boards at the entrace and replace them with pre-treated lumber to give strength back to the flooring.and stability to the landing at the entrance. Leaving this at the condition it is in, will surely wind up in someone falling thru the entrance down to the first level.
Total Cost: Rip off the particle board and original boards, replace with new pre-treated lumber and remove trash $250.00
Project #2: At the front entrance to the residence ground level, the wood on top of the patio is rotting and it appears someone climbed up there and fell thru or almost did. The rotting wood is a danger to anyone entering the entrance with wood that might fall on someone and cause injury.
Solution: Replace all of the wood with pre-treated lumber.
Total Cost: Replace the wood and remove the debris $185.00
